The animals are zombies too

It turns out that monkeys can become infected with the same thing as the adults. We were walking through a zoo yesterday looking for food and as we passed the monkey enclosure we saw an extremely scary looking monkey. It had no nose and one of it's eyes was missing leaving a gaping hole in it's face. I think I saw something moving around in the socket as well. One of its ears had been ripped leaving a nasty looking gash. What seemed to be it's brain was leaking out through a hole in the back of its skull. Marisa was sick all over James' shoe at this point so we decided to make haste after ending the monkey's suffering. What I want to know is if the zombies know what they are doing, if they can feel pain or is it not noticed by them? I suppose we'll never know because I'm doubting if the world will return to it's previous order. I hope it does but none of us think it will any time soon.

God bless my shovel

Last night I was on guard duty when they sprang. Five of them came out from the bushes. The one leading the pack had no face so to speak, just a a mass of muscles, with maggots scrambling around in the flesh. I screamed, not in fear, well I don't think it was fear, but to wake the others up. By the time the others had arrived I had just finished off the third by knocking it to the floor and ramming my shovel through its chest causing it to spurt blood in every direction. James emptied both barrels of his gun into the remaining two almost covering me in pus and nasty smelling liquids, but I rolled out of the way just in time. We are all so tired, but we feel safe nowhere, there is always the chance we will meet some other kids on the way, for some reason we haven't met any adults. Maybe adults get infected easier, come to think of it I haven't seen any child zombies either...

Sleeping under the open air

Last night we were attacked by them. They came in a huge wave, around 50 of them. We fought to the very end but lost some of our stuff. Like our tent. So tonight we're sleeping on a hill, one blanket between the three of us, under the stars. The silly thing is I don't know why I haven't done it before; the stars are so beautiful. As I lay there typing this I tried to remember when was the last time I looked up and just let my mind wander. My mind slipped into a time before all the horrors, a simpler time, and I realised that it can only have been 1 month ago that everything went bad. Before then I was like any other normal teenager, watched too much TV, stayed up too late, didn't get my homework in on time - but now I have to always be alert, wake up early and try not to break down. It was then that my mind flicked back; all I could think of was seeing my parents turn, their stomachs rupturing showering me with their own guts. Eyes falling out of their sockets, left dangling like a yo-yo. That was when they lunged, I couldn't fight them, they were my parents and I couldn't bring myself to kill them.

Endlessly Walking...

We've been on the run for 3 days since my previous post. Only run into 1 group of zombies, but I have a hunch there is a tiny horde behind us - you can hear them howling at the moon like wild dogs.
Marisa is struggling. She keeps having flashbacks. Her parents faces were eaten off right in front of her eyes. She keeps breaking down in the middle of the street and the only way to get her to move is to drag her until she stands up again - that's the only thing that works. To make matters worse our guns are low on munitions and they are what keep us alive basically.
We're trying to get somewhere familiar, but everywhere looks the same, burnt or looted most of the time both. Last night we had to sleep amongst charcoal, I don't think we can get much further. Luckily James is much more hopeful; the driving force in our trio, he is the motivational speaker. Without him I'd be zombie fodder, Marisa too.

How is the internet still working?..

Hi,

Not sure why I greeted the internet....how is the internet still working?...
Anyway, there's three of us. We've been on the run for three days now. A pack of zombies have been after us, but we're safe for a while, got on top of a building and are now sat, guns to the door. Me with my shovel by my side, the others covering me whilst I post this.
I met James two days ago whilst fending off 5 bloodthirsty zombies with my shovel, he turned up and blew what was left of their brains out with his shotgun. Marisa appeared 5 minutes ago, she saw us go into the building and followed us.
I'll be updating this as regularly as possible in attempt to stay sane, sane that is if I still am...This world makes me think I took a bad knock on the head and I'm making this world up from in my imagination.
If anybody can help us please, please, please do. I don't think we can last much longer on tinned tuna and pasta.
